We encourage you to become a participant in the 8th Annual Spin-a thon PLUS on Sunday, April 14th starting at 8:45am.  For the second year, Dr. Alan Sloyer and Michael’s Mission will partner to raise funds to benefit Michael’s Mission. The Spin-a- thon PLUS consists of spin classes interspersed with exercise segments to be held progressively at separate fitness centers on Long Island. Thanks to your support, this event has raised over $100,000 since 2005 to raise funds for the fight against colon and colorectal cancer.

The Roslyn JCC, Hot Ryde, Equinox, Woodbury and Lifetime fitness will be hosting a power-packed day of fun-filled exercise for a great cause. Participants will spin for 30 minutes at the first fitness center. The participants will then travel via a luxury coach bus as a group to the next site for the second activity. This will continue until all the segments are completed (see below for details). Refreshments and energy-enhancing nutrition will be provided throughout the day.

Inspired by Michael Soussa, who lost his three year battle to colorectal cancer at the age of 33, Michael’s Mission is focused on improving the quality of life and treatment options for those suffering from colorectal cancer through education, research and patient support. Michael’s Mission is a registered 501 (c) (3) nonprofit and all funds raised go directly to patient care and support and research initiatives led by a medical advisory board comprised of leading physicians from Weill Cornell Medical College-New York Presbyterian, New York, NY.

As all of you know, we lost my sister, Myriam, after a long battle with colon/pancreatic cancer. When listening to Scottdescribe what happened to his brother, Michael, I was shocked how similar what our two families went through was. I heard of this event and thought what a great day to spend remembering all those we lost to cancer. I know it is short notice  but appreciate any donations. I promise to provide pictures of my struggles to get through this great workout day (should be entertaining as I'm a golfer) :)
